Our Andean wedding offers an authentic and meaningful experience, where you can celebrate your love surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and ancestral rituals. In the midst of majestic mountains, you will witness a ceremony full of symbolism and connection with nature.
Day 1: Andean Wedding - Full Day
We will pick you up from your hotel around 8:30 am and head to the beautiful viewpoint of Ocutuan de Pongobamba (Chinchero) in our transportation, after a 1h40m journey. We will arrive at the starting point of the hike to the viewpoint (approximately 20 minutes) and along the way, we will appreciate the explanation of medicinal herbs. After admiring the incredible view of Lake Piuray with its snow-capped apu tutelar, we will return to the Pongobamba-Chinchero community, where we will stop at the Huaynas de Pumapata association.
Representation and explanation of the Andean Wedding – Sawachikuy.
Nuptial walk to the local Andean altar located on the shores of Lake Piuray. Ceremony of marriage performed by an Andean priest on the shores of Lake Piuray, where we will give thanks to the earth and perform the marriage ceremony. Toast with the newlyweds and godparents. Dance and congratulations from all guests.
Return to the location with a nuptial stroll accompanied by all present. Dance with godparents, sponsors, and guests, and then a traditional lunch, Pachamanca (This traditional Andean dish comes from the Quechua language. “Pacha” means earth or soil, and “manca” means pot or clay pot, so “pote de barro”). Once ready, Pachamanca is served for tasting.
Finally we will return to the city of Cusco where we will drop you off at your chosen hotel.
