Itinerary

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Sacred Valley of the Incas (Pisaq, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero) – in a group. 10 hours tour

On this day, you’ll discover the magnificent Sacred Valley of the Incas, also known as the Vilcanota Valley. We’ll start the day by visiting an artisanal center along the route, where you’ll have the opportunity to observe the famous llamas and interact with local artisans, learn about their techniques, and be amazed by the richness of Peruvian handicrafts and textiles. This is a great place to buy souvenirs. Take your time, as the fine handicrafts and textiles are truly impressive. Next, we’ll visit the archaeological complex of Pisaq, located on top of a mountain. This marvelous site is composed of groups of terraces and architectural structures scattered across the slopes and top of the mountain. A wonderful blend of landscapes and constructions. We’ll then head to the handicraft market where you’ll appreciate a wide variety of ancient craftworks. We’ll stop in Urubamba for lunch, where we’ll enjoy traditional Peruvian cuisine with a range of dishes including salads, soups, hot plates, the famous ceviche, and delicious desserts. After lunch, we’ll visit the Ollantaytambo architectural complex, an Inca living village built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it against invaders. We’ll have the opportunity to walk through its streets and gain a clearer idea of what this military, religious, and cultural center was like during the Inca Empire. Finally, we’ll visit the picturesque town of Chinchero, where we’ll find the remains of Tupac Inca Yupanqui’s royal estate. We’ll visit textile centers and then return to Cusco, where we’ll leave you at your hotel.

IMPORTANT TIPS: Bring extra money, as we’ll be passing through several traditional markets where you may want to buy souvenirs
